Durabase Quick Build Conservatory.

We offer two options for building: traditional methods or a less disruptive way using a Durabase Conservatory base. The Durabase is faster, cleaner, and more cost-effective. It is also easier to position and causes minimal disruption during installation. Durabase Extensions and large conservatories have a 25-year manufacturer's guarantee and have U-Values of 0.18W/m2k. Meaning they have superior insulation compared to traditional building methods, which can save you money on energy costs.

Building Regulations part L1b 2013:
Conservatories less than 30m2 are exempt so long as the dividing wall and door are between the Conservatory and living space. Also, the existing heating system must be kept from the proposed Conservatory. The new Conservatory must be thermally separated from the dwelling by walls, windows or doors that meet energy efficiency requirements.

Building Regulations Part L1A:2013. 15th of June, 2022.

The new performance standards for replacement glazing in the UK now require a whole window U-value of 1.4 W/m2K or Band B with energy certificates. As a result, C-rated windows are no longer allowed. Additionally, building regulations in England have changed for floors and walls. The U-value for floors has been reduced from 0.22 W/m2K to 0.18 W/m2K, and the U-value for walls has been lowered from 0.28 W/m2K to 0.18 W/m2K.

Too often, builders and DIY projects assume that a Conservatory is lightweight. They install only the minimum trench required for footings, build the dwarf wall, and install the frames and polycarbonate/Glass roof. Look at older conservatories; you will notice quite a few with the roof cresting, not level. Typically, this is from where subsidence has happened.

Before any work can start, you must have a party wall agreement with your neighbours.

Ventilation:
We offer two types of standard roof lights that can be opened using a simple screw jack and pole mechanism. These roof vents can be opened or closed as needed to provide ventilation. You can choose between a Brass or Chrome screw jack and pole for your vent. Additionally, we have a fully automatic vent option that will open when it's too hot and close automatically when it rains.
